About the program
This activity is approved by NCBAHM in the AOM-BIO category for 1 credits (course PDA-9513-2). This is either a standalone activity or a follow-up to the distance learning Western Nutrition for the Acupuncturist course. In this activity you will identify a nutrition trend that you either learned about in the Western Nutrition for the Acupuncturist course, have seen in the news or on social media, or heard about somewhere else. The trend could be a fad, movement in nutrition, new ingredient/product craze, or popular shift in thinking. Then, using one piece of research minimum, you will either confirm it to be something that should stick around because it's good advice, identify it as something that needs more evidence, or completely debunk it. The final piece is to come up with a response/recommendation based on your findings; something you might share with a patient who is asking you about the trend. If you completed the Western Nutrition for the Acupuncturist course, this is a free CEU. You will be sent a code for this course once your purchase of the 4 CEU course is complete. Goals and objectives include: - Goals: support professional skill development in assessing nutrition trends that patients might bring to you and support critical thinking related to trends and answering patient queries on nutrition. - Objectives: at the end of this activity participants will be able to feel confident in evaluating and analyzing data related to nutrition trends, designing a response based on the data for patients, and apply learning in clinical practice. Good luck, and please reach out with any questions!
