Macronutrients

Macronutrients are carbohydrates, fat and protein. They're called macronutrients because they make up the majority of what people consume. They provide the energy to finance activity throughout the day and help the body systems work optimally. There's much debate about how much of any one of these should be consumed to enhance health, whatever those goals might be. Some people say that more protein is better. The keto diet promotes extremely high fat. In reality, ideal balance might be different for everyone, depending on disease presence and/or health goals. The topics below introduce the macros and some additional concepts related.
